Dad, lift me in please.

Funny how every day we have the same routines. Here we go again ...
''Dad, lift me up. I'm told old to jump.''
Too fat, more like it.
''Dad, lift me up too.''
Daisy, you can jump up there, you fat lump !'
''But I like it when you pick me up 'cos you always cuddle me too.''
OK, here we go. Monty in. Daisy in too.
Now let's go for a walk, and maybe fish and chips as well.

Cooling off in the creek. Yarra Bend Park Kew

It's a lovely day. Let's go down to The River.
"Yay ! The River. It's very exciting."
"Watch me paddle, Dad.''
Yes Monty. You be careful.
''It's lovely and cool.''
Yes Daisy. Don't go out too far.
"Ahhh. A cool breeze."
Yes. It's a glorious day.
That's all for now.
Now to wander home with two muddy hounds.

Salami for Mum

Come on kiddies, you Mum sent word that she wants salami and tomatoes on toast for supper.
''OK Dad. We'll come too.''
See kiddies ? Ham and salami.
''Mmmm. Smells good.''
''Mmmm, and Mum's a sucker. She'll give us a slice or two.''
You think Mum will give you a piece ??
"Always, Dad."

''Hurry up Dad. We're bored, we've been inside all day, and it's time for a walk !''
Righto. Let me find my boots.
''I need to sniff.''
''I need to roll !''
''Ah. That's better.''

Just a loaf of bread.

I'm just off to the shops for a loaf of bread. Are you two coming ?
''Of course, Dad.''
Righto. Jump in the car.
''Um, just bread, Dad. No salami ? No ham ? Just asking, you understand, in case you forgot, that's all.''
*Sigh*, maybe some ham as well, for all of us.

Salty Seadogs revisited. 3. Port Melbourne Beach

''Dad ! Watch me roll.''
Yes Daisy.
''See ?! Like this. It's great fun.''
Yes Daisy.
''Then like this to finish it off and get really sandy and stinky.''
Oh how nice.... And then shake it all off in my car ?
''Of course, Dad.''
Just lovely. One dirty stinky sandy dog.
