Mr Darcy and Daisy waiting for a snackette. Clockwork Cafe, Clifton Hill

It's a glorious Autumn day and it's my rostered day off, so let's all go for a walk.
Come on you two, let's head to Queens Parade for a snack.

Clockwork Cafe will do just fine. Now what will we have ?
"Gosh, a little snackette would be nice, Dad."
Sure Daisy. What would you like ? And you Mr Darcy ?

"Bacon, Dad."
"Bacon, please Sir."

Sigh, OK. I might have a tandoori chicken pide, with bacon on the side of course.
"Yum. We'll taste that for you too, Dad. Just to make sure it's OK."
Mmmmm. Maybe.

Bacon for you, and for you. Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.

Mr Darcy is slowly settling in.

We've walked up to Queens Parade to Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.
Some bacon, Mr Darcy ?

"Why, thank you Sir. Don't mind if I do."

Some for you too, Daisy.
"Thanks Dad."

A little more for Mr Darcy.
"Yum. I might be on a good thing here with these people."

Last piece for my little Daisy-Mae.
"Mmmm. Bacon. Thanks Dad."

That's all kiddies. Time to stroll on home.

Breakfast with Mr Darcy. Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.

Mr Darcy is slowly settling in.

We're out for our morning walk and have stopped at Clockwork Cafe for some breakfast.
"Will there be bacon, Dad ?"
Yes Daisy-Mae. There will be bacon.

"Did someone say bacon ?"
Yes Mr Darcy.

"Lovely, but that pigeon will do too, if we can catch it..."

A passing dog walker seemed to think that Mr Darcy might be part West Highland Terrier.

I guess we'll never know.

Introducing Mr Darcy. Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.

It's been a very traumatic few weeks, Dear Reader.
Poor old Monty passed away from old age and diabetes complications. He was a lovely boy and he had a good long life, certainly the best we could possibly give him.

Monty's passing has left a big hole in our lives, a hole that needed to be filled with fuzzy love and dog hair and empty bellies needing feeding and long walks in the park.

So. Meet Mr Darcy.
Here we are on the way back from being rescued.
We think he's part Shih Tzu and part Terrier.

We found him at the RSPCA Lost Dogs Home, under the name of 'Puddles', but we didn't like that name and it wasn't nearly noble enough. 'Mr Darcy' it will be from now on.

Daisy seems to be taking it well. I hope she'll like having a companion again.

It's been an emotional morning and a long drive and we're all hungry.
Let's stop for breakfast at Clockwork Cafe.
"Did someone say breakfast ?"

Some toast and egg, Mr Darcy ?
"Oooh, yes please."

Some more then ?
"Yes please. Very kind of you."

"I'm quite partial to a little hot buttered toast too, if you don't mind."

Well I can see you'll fit right in then, Mr Darcy.
"And a scratch on the noggin too please."

A scratch ? Can do.
Stay tuned for more of our adventures with Daisy-Mae and Mr Darcy.
It's a whole new chapter...

P.S. He's settling in well at home. He's had a big supper and his belly is full.
Daisy and Mr Darcy are snoozing, back to back on their bed. So far, so good.

Walkies to Clockwork Cafe. Part three.

It's a lovely morning and we are off to Clockwork Cafe for brekky.

We've walked up the hill at a slow stroll and are ready for toast and coffee.
"And bacon too, for us of course..."
Yes you two, bacon for you.
Wait here while I order.

"Zzzzzz."
Monty ! Wake up ! Your breakfast is ready.

"Mmmm. Bacon for me ? Yum."

Daisy, do you want some bacon too?
"Let me sniff it first."

Daisy, you're too fussy. Just eat it !
"OK Dad, just for you. Bacon ! Yum !"

...and toast and coffee for me. Yum.

"Miss out on bacon ?! Just get out of my way."

Out for breakfast.

I am on late shifts this week, so we go for long walks in the morning... usually to the nearest cafe.

Here we are sitting outside the Clockwork Cafe, waiting for our bacon.

Hello Daisy.
"Hello Dad."

"Do you love me Dad ?"
Yes Daisy.
