Freezing outside.

It's October in Melbourne and it should be warm, but it's a freezing day.
It doesn't matter, we go out for a walk anyway.

Hurry up Mr Darcy, it's time for a hot coffee.
"Coming Dad. I want hot toast and butter."

Sausage in a bun.

This is what I like about our local park. Creative people filling a need.
"Do you want a sausage mate?"
Yes please.
And I'll try to save a little for the kiddies.

The kiddies sniff around to see if anyone has dropped a sausage, but no luck.

Lovely sunny day in the park.

It's the middle of winter here but we finally have a sunny day, so it's time for a big walk.
What a glorious day.

Hello Winnie. Don't roll in anything today please.

Hello Mr Darcy. Lovely boy.

A damp walk.

It's raining. It's been raining all day but we still have to go out for a walk between the showers.

Waiting for a walk.

"Hurry up Dad. I need a walk."
Yes Mr Darcy, let me put my shoes on.

"Hurry up Dad, I need a walk."
Yes Winnie, and I need a poop, just wait.
"I need to poop too Dad."
Just wait, give me a minute.

And it's a lovely day in Edinburgh Gardens, and it's worth the wait, apart from being forced to pose by the lavender.

Another lovely day.

It's March now in Melbourne and the summer days are growing shorter and colder. Winter will be here soon.
So... Let's go and make the most of it right now. It's a lovely day here in Edinburgh Gardens.

"Rub my belly, Dad."
Yes Winnie.

Here we are at the park on day seven with Winnie, our new rescue mutt.
She's such a good girl and she loves attention.

"Hello Dad."

Lovely girl, come her and I'll scratch your belly.

Day four with Winnie.

Lucky girl to be rescued by us.
She's having a walk every morning with Laura and a walk every afternoon with me.

Roast chicken for dinner.
It's a good life.
Lucky, lucky girl.

First a swim, then walk the dogs.

Fitzroy pool is just across the road. After my early shifts I have a quick swim, then walk Mr Darcy, who is waiting impatiently for me.

Come on, keep up.

"Come on Dad. Keep up. There's so much to sniff and so many trees to pee on. "
Yes Mr D. I'll do my best.

I smell possums.

"Dad! I can smell possums!"
Yes I know. They're everywhere in the park and you come to this tree every day. Use up some energy and bark at them for a bit.

"Come on Dad, it's close to my supper time."

"Hmm hmm, 'scuse me. OK, these are the cricket nets."

"And that's the end of this little tour 'cos I'm hungry now."

*wink* "...also usually good for a sausage from the match barbecue."

"Hum, what next. This is the Memorial to something or other..."

"This is the Grandstand. They usually hold their barbecues right here, know what I'm saying..."

"Come on up, there's a great view."
