Trying to put my shoes on.
This is my morning routine with my new rescued dog Winnie.
I'm trying to put my shoes on, but Winnie is nipping playfully at my fingers, pulling my socks out of my hands, and slithering like an eel around my feet.

It's very funny and it's something I look forward to because I know it will make me laugh.
Ow, don't bite my toes !

Out with the old, in with the new.
Laura has just bought two new mattresses. She's left me to put them on the beds.
Darcy, come and check out the new mattress I've just put on the bed.
"Sure thing Dad."
Let's take a selfie and send it to Laura. Smile.
Out with the old.
Watch out Daisy-Mae or you'll go out with them. You're getting a bit old too.
"Don't even joke about it, Dad. I know you love me to bits."

Breakfast for me, and a little for you too. Let's stop at Loafer Bread.
We're just back from the vet after Daisy's injection and it's time for a coffee, and a bombolone too.
I think we'll stop at Loafer Bread.
*sniff sniff* "What's that, Dad ?"
Oh, hello you two. It's my bombolone. Would you like a taste ?
"Yes please Dad."
Lovely girl.
Everybody is out today. Hello you lot.

Front facing camera.
This new phone has a front facing camera, ideal for capturing these precious moments.

Being woken up by having a hairy mutt jump on me, f'rinstance. Ouch!

"Hello Dad. Smooch smooch. Wake up! "

Mr Darcy and Dad's first trip to The Beach - Port Melbourne Beach
I found these pics in my wife's phone.
This was our first family outing to The Beach with Mr Darcy.
"Hurry up, Sir Dad. It's very exciting."
Coming, coming. Just hold your horses.
"Wow, look at all that sand and water. Wow."
Alrighty then. We're all organised. Let's go.
Come on Daisy, let's try to keep up with that silly mutt.
OK, who's going in for a paddle ?
"Not me Dad. It looks very scary."
Scary ? Piffle ! Daisy, you show Mr Darcy how it's done.
"Yes of course Dad. Just leave it to the senior dog around here."
"See, Mr Darcy ? Easy peasy. It's very refreshing on the toes and the belly."
Clever girl, Daisy. Senior dog ?
"Yes of course, Dad. I am The Boss Dog now."

Daisy's eyebrows.
Daisy, come here and let me play with your eyebrows.
"Yes Dad."

Hahaha. You look like Dame Edna Everage with her glasses...
"Oh yes Dad. Ha Ha Very Funny, I'm sure."

Or maybe like Elton John and those glasses he wears...
"Yes Dad. Such a joke."

"Actually Dad, I was thinking more like those beasties in 'Gremlins'..."
Hmmm, yes, maybe.

"So, Dad.... You'd better not get me wet or I'll turn into a monster, so no more baths !"
Si the DogBlogger.

Thank you. A few favorites. Monty and Dad.
Thank you to those who have passed on condolences at Monty's passing.
We're all very sad.
Here's a few favorites of my beautiful boy.

To think that I will never play with his toes again, or check his eyes and his nose and his teeth.

No more snuffles and no more snugglebunnies.

No more walks. No more drives in the car.

No more adventures.
Very sad.

Thank you all, and our love to you and your furry friends.

Rest in peace, Monty Pender. 23 March 2012.
Rest in peace, Monty Pender, passed away this day.
He had a good life.
He was fed well.
He was loved well.
He loved me, this much I know.
Thank you to my wife for introducing me to Monty, and all the joys of living with dogs.
Thank you to Mama for looking after him when we were away.
Thank you to Wendy and Adam for helping him in those last few hours. Our gratitude to you knows no bounds. Bless you and thank you again.

Are we gorgeous together ?
"Are we gorgeous together, Dad ?"
Yes, DaisyMae. Totally.
*sniffsniff* But you could do with wash. You smell like old possum, and your hair is full of mud and snot.
"But Dad, I thought you loved me for my inner being."
Sigh, yes, but I just love you more when you're clean.

We do a lot of this ....
Monty, show me you eyes.
"Yes Dad." *snuffle snuffle*
I have to check for eye goop and that ingrowing eyelash.
Show me your teeth.
"Yes Dad." *snort snort*
Lovely teeth. Those bones keep your teeth nice.
Show me your ears.
"Yes Dad." *snuffle snort*
Nice clean ears.
You're such a good boy, Monty
"It's all attention Dad. I like it when you look after me."
