Haircut today.

Melbourne is starting to warm up for summer, so it's haircut day today for Winnie.
It's a long, hard job. Her hair is very thick and prickly but it's worth it in the end. Phew.

Does that feel better, Winnie ?
"Oh yes Dad. Lovely and cool. Is my fringe OK?"
Oh yes, Just gorgeous.

Wash day, and last haircut for summer.

It's a lovely day today and both the kiddies stink of old possums, so I think it's time for a bath.
We head to The Belljar for breakfast, and then to PetStock to use their big tub.
Then it's off the to park for a walk to dry off and then home for a haircut.

Winnie first.

It always amazes me how much hair comes off Winnie.

Lastly a pose on the couch to show off how lovely and clean we are.

Winnie. End of day two.

Another big day for my new girl.
We've had a play with mum.
We've had a haircut from dad.
We've had a big walk in the park and some snacks and then dinner.

Time for sleep now.

Tragic haircut

Poor Darcy. That haircut looks a bit tragic.
"Well you did it, Dad. Anyway, I feel much cooler thank you."

Victim of a tragic haircut.

It's going to be another hot Summer here in Melbourne.

I have dug out the dog clippers and given Daisy her first haircut.
I feel a bit bad that I have cut her fringe off too. Show me, Daisy ...

"Yes Dad. But at least I feel cooler."

Let me look side on. Hmmm, well at least it's growing back already.
"Yes Dad. But at least I can see now."

And the rest of you looks like a plague victim. Maybe a W.A.S.H. would help.
"Go easy there, Dad ! Anyway I like it now when you pat me. It's all nice and prickly."

Poor chicken. At least your mustache still looks fine.

Trying to brush the mud out.

Mr Darcy took a face plant in the mud in The Park, so I'm trying to brush him clean.

Sorry boy, but you're full of knots as well. I'm going to have to cut out all this matted fur with the scissors.
"Go for it Dad. There's plenty more were that came from."

Maybe I'll just shave you naked then...
"Whoa Dad. Go easy on that idea. It is Winter you know."

Yes well. No shaving then. I'll just have to keep hacking at you with this steel comb.
"Ouch. Oooch. Owwww."

Well if you weren't so knotty... Look at all this, and I've barely started.

I guess I'll have to groom you more often then. *Sigh*

Unfortunate victims of a haircut.

Daisy, show me your haircut.
"Am I gorgeous, Dad ?"
Oh yes, very. Turn around.

"Dad, does my bum look big in this haircut ?"
Um, yes it does Daisy. Maybe we need to trim a little more fur... Or a little more fat !

Monty, show me your haircut.
"Hello Dad. I feel nice and cool now."

Yes, very handsome, apart from the shaved patches from your hospital visit.
"Yeah, I get a few breezes in odd places, Dad."

"Trouble is Dad, it's a bit itchy..." *scratch scratch scratch*

Ah well, it'll grow back.

Hot day haircut. Daisy's turn.

It's a stinking hot day so it's a good time for a haircut for everybody.

Your turn now Daisy. Shall I trim your fringe ?
"No Dad. Just a bit of the back please."

OK, trim the back. Can do.
"Make me look like Jennifer Aniston please, Dad."

Um, sorry Daisy, but you need to pay for haircut like that. This one's free, so how about Sinead Oconnor instead ?

"Dad ! Don't joke. Just don't touch the fringe... And next time pay for my haircut."

Hot day haircut.

It's 40 C today. Very hot indeed.
The kiddies are suffering in the heat so it's time for a haircut.

First a beer for me and set the clippers up. Quarter inch I think today. Nice and short.

Monty, you first.
"Just a little of the sideburns please Dad."
Sorry Monty, but it's the Full Monty today.

You gonna be naked soon boyo, and a lot cooler.
"Rightio Dad. Cooler sounds good."

Let's trim the tummy too.
*snort giggle* "That tickles, Dad."

And the feet and toes and cut out all the prickles, dags and burs.
"Just watch where you put those clippers, Dad."

There. You're done. Now to find Daisy.

Little Sheep and Plague Victim.

Monty and Daisy have just had their first Summer haircut.

Poor Daisy always looks like a plague victim.
"Dad, that's not very nice. I think I look gorgeous."
Hmmm.

But Monty always looks handsome, like a freshly shaved sheep.
"Thank you Dad. I feel nice and cool too."

"Make sure you capture my good side."
Yes Monty.

I'm sorry Daisy but you DO look like a plague victim, with all that silly fluff on your head and your shaved body. *snort snigger*

"Dad ! Don't be mean."

Daisy's Fringe

Monty and Daisy have just had a Summer hair cut.

Monty looks like a sheep.
Daisy looks like a plague victim... but I did leave her wonderful fringe.
"Hello everybody."

Show us your amazing fringe, Daisy.
"Sure, how about this side ?!"

Lovely. Now the other side...
"Sure, how's this ?"

Luverly. That truly is an amazing fringe.

'Little Plague Victim' and 'Sheep'

The kiddies have just had another haircut.
''Hello Dad.''
''Hello Dad.''
Daisy looks like a plague victim after a haircut. All patchy and strange colors.
But I kept her top-knot... see ?!
Monty looks like a shaved sheep... Behaves like one too.
''Yes Dad, I feel young and fresh and cool.''

Hmm, now that you two have had a haircut, I'm hoping you won't leave so much hair in my car !
''Haha, as if. Dreams are free, Dad.''
''I like your optimism, Dad.''

Daisy, you next.

Monty and Daisy have both just had a wash.
Now it's time for a summer haircut.

Daisy, your turn.
"Maybe a little off the fringe please, Dad."

Let's take all this off too.

"Make me look beautiful please, Dad."
No problemo, Daisy.
