Another possum chaser. Edinburgh Gardens Fitzroy.

It looks like Mr Darcy is going to be a possum chaser too.

"Dad ! There's a possum here, I can smell it !"
"Me too. I can smell it too, Dad."

"Maybe I can jump up here..."

"Or maybe I can climb here..."

"Maybe this tree. Yes. I'll climb up here and swing across. There must be a way."

Stop poking me !

What have you found now, Daisy-Mae ?
"Dad ! It's the possum tree."
Hmmm. Don't get your fat head stuck in there.
"Fat chance, Dad... and don't be rude."
Hurry up. It's getting dark and starting to rain.
"But Dad... I smell possums !"
If you don't hurry up I'll poke you in the bottom *snigger*
"Ouch. Dad ! Stop poking me."
*poke poke*
"Dad ! Stop, I'm coming out, OK ?!"

Reggae in The Park part two

We're out for a stroll in The Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy.
The skateboarders have brought a deck along, and are playing reggae.
We were heading over for a look but Monty has found some possum poop to roll in.

"Ohh yeah. Stinky possum poop."

"Ohh yeah, that feels good."

"Hmm, hmm, hmm. What a lovely day to roll in possum poop."

Well, it's funny to watch. Ha ha, all four feet in the air.
Are you enjoying that Monty ?

"Oh yes Dad. There's nothing better."

Reggae in The Park - Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy.

We're over near the skateboard ramp in The Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy.
Someone has brought along a deck, and is cranking out some New Zealand reggae.

"Listen Dad. Music."

That's pretty funky. Sounds like Katchafire - Collie Herb Man.

"Let's head over there, Dad."

OK, I'm good for that. Let's go.
"Oh, wait. Possum poop. I have to roll in that !"

Oh no. Well, I was gonna wash you when we go home anyway.
To be continued ...

Monty and Daisy hunting possums.

We were walking back from the vet after a wash, when Daisy decided to detour to the Possum Tree.

In you go Daisy. Get that possum.

"I'm trying Dad."

"I know I can get in there if I really try."

"Daisy, you're too fat, let me try."

"No Monty, I was here first."

Waiting for that possum...

Monty and Daisy and I were out for our usual walk in the park when we found this fellow.
He was sitting by one of the Possum Trees.

"Hello Monty. Hello Daisy."

"Hello. What you doing ?"
"Waiting for possums of course. I can SMELL them."

"Well it is the Possum Tree."

"I know they're in there. I can wait forever."

"and I will wait here forever and ever and ever ..."
You have to admire the obsession.

Possum in that box.

''Dad look !''
Yes kiddies ?

''There's a possum in that box !''
OK, what are you gonna do about it ? It looks pretty safe behind that fence.

''Well, we'll just stand here for hours barking at it. That's our usual tactic, OK ?''
Sigh, rightio.

Australia Day at The Merri Creek. Part 4

This is the last installment of our trip to The Merri Creek.

We found all sorts of things on this trip.
We found a possum up a tree.

But we can't catch the possum, and the possum is asleep.
"Bark, bark, bark"
"Boring. Let's go chase the ducks."

"There's the ducks."

"Can you get the ducks ?"
"No. Well can YOU get the ducks."
"No"

"They're out too far"
"Dad, we can't catch the ducks"

"Well let's just paddle our toes then."

Then everybody back in the car and let's go home.

Get the mouse

Monty is a hero. He catches mice around the house. Cockroaches too.
Anything that moves is "The Mouse".
We yell "Monty, get The Mouse" every time we see a cockroach and he's straight on to it.

We're on our usual walk in the Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy

"Smells like possums, Dad"

"Yup, possums for sure"

"Monty, get The Mouse"

"Me too, Dad. Me too"
Good girl, Daisy.
But the possums are way too smart.

So, off we go to the next tree.

Possum Tree

We're in the Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy for our daily walk.

This is the Possum Tree.

We always stop and have a sniff here.

When Daisy was younger and slimmer, she would fit right inside that hole.

Now she is too fat, and only her head will fit.

Monty can be a bit obsessive. He will sit there for hours if I let him.

Usually I have to clip their leads on and drag them away.
It's all just part of the fun.

Checking things out

We do a lot of checking things out when we are at the park.
Monty scans the horizon.

Monty and Daisy checking out The Possum Tree.

Greeting friends...

Catching up on the news...

"Hello you."
"Hello to you too."
