Learning to use the dog door.

Well, it seems Mr Darcy isn't too dopey after all.
He's learnt to use the dog door very quickly. I think Daisy must have taught him.
You OK there Mr Darcy ?
"Oh yes. I've had a peepee and sniffed all the corners."
Good boy.

Still ready for Walkies.

"Good morning, Dad. We're ready."
*groans* Hello kiddies. *yawn* Ok, we'll go for a walk.

"Yay. Walkies. Everybody dance around."
"Hooray ! Walkies. Jump up and down."

Hahaha. Have you two finished ?

"Walkies, Dad. Now. We're still ready."
"Oh yes Sir. Still ready. Now. Please ?!"

Taking the stitches out at Fitzroy Veterinary Clinic.

We're down at the Fitzroy Vet with Mr Darcy and Daisy.
Mr Darcy had just been neutered when we saved him from the RSPCA on the Peninsula.

This is your first visit here, boyo. Probably the first of many no doubt.
"Yes. It's very exciting."

Yes, silly thing. Anyway, it's time to take your stitches out.
Poor thing. No knackers now.

"Jolly good. It does itch, you know."

You're such a good boy. You're taking it very well.
"I say, there's lots of interesting creatures here, you know."

"Hey Dad, maybe they can put some brains in when they take those stitches out."
Daisy-Mae !

"Well he's a bit dopey, Dad."
Yeah, just a little bit, but he's young.

Five more minutes

Good morning Mr Darcy.
"Good morning, Sir."

How are you this morning ? Feeling more at home ?
"Yes, fine thank you."

"So ! Can we go for a walk now ? Huh, can we ? Can we ?"

No way. It's far to early and I'm still half asleep.
What do you think Daisy-Mae ?
"Tell the young fool to shut up, Dad."

Daisy-Mae !
*groans* "Five more minutes, Dad." *Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

I agree.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Registering Mr Darcy, and some training.

It's going to be a long slow road training this new hound.
He's two years old and full of energy and uncertainty.

Sit still, Mr Darcy ! Stop jumping up !
"Sorry Sir, but I'm very excited."

Well, you're officially part of the family. You're now registered at the Yarra Council.
"Thanks, I think."

They gave me some poop bags too.
"Ah well, they'll come in useful, I'm sure."

Here's a treat for being a Good Boy.
"Gosh, thanks."

You can have one too, Daisy-Mae. You've been very patient with the new mutt.

Bacon for you, and for you. Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.

Mr Darcy is slowly settling in.

We've walked up to Queens Parade to Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.
Some bacon, Mr Darcy ?

"Why, thank you Sir. Don't mind if I do."

Some for you too, Daisy.
"Thanks Dad."

A little more for Mr Darcy.
"Yum. I might be on a good thing here with these people."

Last piece for my little Daisy-Mae.
"Mmmm. Bacon. Thanks Dad."

That's all kiddies. Time to stroll on home.

Breakfast with Mr Darcy. Clockwork Cafe for breakfast.

Mr Darcy is slowly settling in.

We're out for our morning walk and have stopped at Clockwork Cafe for some breakfast.
"Will there be bacon, Dad ?"
Yes Daisy-Mae. There will be bacon.

"Did someone say bacon ?"
Yes Mr Darcy.

"Lovely, but that pigeon will do too, if we can catch it..."

A passing dog walker seemed to think that Mr Darcy might be part West Highland Terrier.

I guess we'll never know.
